A destination for discriminating travelers since 1899, The Dolder Grand was recently reborn as a luxury city resort through a four-year, $400 million renovation including stunning innovations of modern architecture. Set in a natural “green zone” near the heart of the city, the hotel has two new wings and 173 guest rooms, including four Top Suites inspired by illustrious past guests – such as the Rolling Stones. The new 43,000 square foot Dolder Grand Spa features artfully designed areas including an aqua zone with a black Bisazza mosaic pool, a snow paradise room, and two exclusive Spa Suites.
The hotel’s fine-dining room, The Restaurant, recently garnered 17 points from Gault Millau – making it one of the highest-rated restaurants in Zurich. The Restaurant will offer special 5 to 7-course dinner menus and 4-course lunch menus from Christmas Eve through the day after Christmas, while The Garden Restaurant will offer 4-course dinner menus and special Christmas Brunch on December 25 and 26 and January 1.
Gala Dinners on New Year’s Eve at The Restaurant and the Garden Restaurant at The Dolder Grand will be the stylish way to ring in 2009. Beginning at 7:00 p.m. a seven-course prix-fixe menu will be served in The Restaurant (CHF 380 per person) and a four-course menu will be served at the Garden Restaurant (CHF 190 per person). Both dinners include a glass of champagne and access afterwards to the Bar at The Dolder Grand for a live DJ, dancing, champagne buffet with midnight snacks and a great perspective on the New Year’s fireworks display over Lake Zurich to round out a spectacular celebratory evening.
Located in a unique position between the pulsating life of Zurich and a natural green zone, The Dolder Grand, City Resort of Zurich since 1899, enjoys unrivalled views of the city, the lake and the Alps. The hotel features 173 luxurious rooms and suites in the fully restored historic Main Building and new Spa and Golf Wings, as well as a 43,000 square foot Spa and first-class cuisine in two restaurants. The most eye-catching of the banqueting facilities is the great ballroom, topped with its unusual cupola. The hotel is also outfitted a pioneering geo-thermal energy concept. The former Dolder Grand Hotel closed for renovation in 2004.
