“Families of Australia,” available on DVD is a trip into the lives of two students whose lives are very different. Families sharing this journey will learn much from this fantastic journey, which one of the series 19 titles that takes us behind the scenes in a documentary style “day in the life” glimpse into how people in different countries live from a child’s point of view.
Follow eight-year-old Phoebe, who lives in Attunga, a town northwest of Sydney, with her parents, 10-year-old brother Forbes and their dog Jake. Children will see they’re not the only one’s who have chores to do. As for Phoebe, her family chores include feeding the chickens and collecting eggs and herding the sheep.

On the other side of the country, seven-year-old Joshua lives in Sydney with his mom, dad, five-year-old sister Phoebe and a menagerie of rabbits, fish, chickens and a parrot. Each video has important lessons we can all learn from like how Joshua’s family deals with the long Australian droughts by conserving water in efficiently inventive ways.
Each child’s life is unique, yet they share many things in common. And, it is wonderful to get a glimpse into the lives of these children from their perspective, which other kids can relate to on a personal level!
