With one of the 10 largest convention center ballrooms in the country, the Kansas City Convention Center is ideal for conventions and special events. Facilities offers 388,800 square feet of column-free exhibit space on one floor, another 55,000 square feet of additional space on two levels, and 45 state of the art meeting rooms.
The 46,484 square foot Grand Ballroom is the first ballroom in the country to use a controllable, digital lighting system that allows natural light into the space. It features one of the most sophisticated lighting systems in the world. The upper walls of the ballroom can be programmed to display any color, offering planners more than 350 trillion color combinations. Floor-to-ceiling glass covers the entire south and east walls, offering dramatic views of the city.
There is also a 2,400-seat fine arts theater, and a renovated arena that can seat more than 10,700 people. As for a perfect outdoor setting, the Convention Center has an outdoor plaza and sculpture garden for events up to 2,000 people and permanent tennis court at Barney Allis Plaza with onsite parking for up to 1,000. And, it is all connected to major downtown hotels and underground parking by glass-enclosed skywalks and below-ground walkways.
The Convention Center is set in the heart of the Kansas City Power & Light District with access to the Sprint Arena and eight blocks of entertainment, dining and more. Just a few steps away is KC Live! featuring two levels and fourteen high-energy entertainment, nightlife and dining establishments. Throughout the throughout the year KC Live! also hosts several summer concerts series and special events. Music selections include Hot Country Nights, Rock the Block and District Rhythms concert series, the Family Fun Days event series, and a variety of other concerts, parties and rockin’ events!
