One of the favorite events is the edible creations of Gingerbread Village, then there is the always popular family tradition Conner Prairie by Candlelight; and the new Holiday on the Prairie.

Each year, Conner Prairie surprises us with new holiday cheer, old favorites, and they bring together special local guests like Dick Wolfsie, who has written Indiana Curiosities. Then there is the festive event Conner Prairie by Candlelight that takes us back to Dec. 24 1836  when Prairietown residents are preparing for the holidays. On a 60-minute guided tour you’ll visit the characters that bring Conner Prairie to life and join a holiday party at the Campbell’s home.

Be sure to check out Conner Prairie’s newest exhibit, 1859 Balloon Voyage, which is a joy for all. This balloon adventure takes you up, up, up soaring 350-feet above the ground. Balloon tickets are an additional fee and will be sold each evening, weather permitting. This exciting exhibit also shares insight into Indiana’s aviation history, and a perfect way to enjoy the Indiana countryside.

To close out the festive evening enjoy a holiday style candlelight buffet in Conner Prairie’s Overlook Room. The buffet includes holiday favorites such country ham, chicken, maple mashed sweet potatoes and warm cherry crisp. Reservations are required for Conner Prairie by Candlelight and Candlelight buffet.
