Visit London has put together a list of some of the quirkiest, dreamiest and most alluring ideas for a big date in an already magical city. Among the highlights is a special escape to the OXO Tower Brasserie in London that is hosting Vegas Valentine on Feb. 14, and it promises to be a memorable event.
The bar is being converted into a true Vegas casino, and there will even be a small chapel, perfect for renewing wedding vows or fooling loved ones – they will even take your picture for “evidence!” Tickets for the evening include champagne upon arrival, wine, a three-course dinner and coffee. And remember, what happens at the OXO Tower Brasserie stays there…

“It will be like Times Square, just a bit smaller, with a Northern Michigan feel,” jokes Brian Sweebe, one of the organizers of the event. “We are going to have a giant Cherry drop from the sky as the clock strikes midnight.” A live band takes the stage at 10:30pm. Although there is no admission for the event, Goodwill Industries will be on site collecting canned goods and personal hygiene items for the local needy.

Alabama’s Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are prepared for a jolly good time this holiday season as Santa trades in his sleigh for a cruise along the shore during the a “Nautical Night of Lights” this winter. Navigating the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW), Santa’s lighted boat parade is a tribute to the area’s nautical history.

One place to begin is at the Crown Center’s American Heartland Theatre that will weave heart-tugging tale of George Bailey in a whole new direction for It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play until Dec. 27. The setting for the new interpretation is Kansas City’s WDAF television studios, circa 1946.
